Company Culture
At RECON, we understand that the health of our communities depends on a strong commitment to sustaining environmental and social well-being. That is why we are dedicated to supporting our communities—not only through our company initiatives but also through the active involvement of each of our employees. Winner of the
Top Workplaces Award
2021-2025
RECON is proud to be recognized as a 2025 Top Workplace by The San Diego Union-Tribune, ranking number five among small companies! We are also honored to receive the 2025 Work/Life Flexibility Award. Past special awards won include awards for excellence in leadership and work-life balance. Thanks to our amazing employees for making this achievement possible!
Employee Stock Ownership Program
RECON has adopted the Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) to enable our employees to share in the value and the growth of the company by owning stock of the company. The ESOP is a tax-qualified benefit provided at no cost to the employee.
As employee owners, we collectively contribute to RECON’s success. In turn, our success as a company directly affects our ESOP share value. Over the past 50 years, RECON’s revenue has continued to grow due to the hard work and dedication of our employee-owners.

RECON is a long-time supporter of Computers 2 Kids, San Diego through the donation of our used computers and electronic equipment. Computers 2 Kids recycles and refurbishes computers and provides them to individuals and families in need. They also provide education, training, and technical support, all with the goal of providing children with higher chances for future success.

RECON is an avid and long-time supporter of SANDAG's Sustainable Transportation Services program (formerly iCommute). In support of this initiative, RECON promotes sustainable commuting by encouraging carpooling, providing MTS transit passes, offering bicycle parking and cycling allowances, and supporting flexible work schedules and remote teleworking. We also encourage carpooling to project sites and participate in SANDAG’s annual National Rideshare Week and Bike Anywhere Day events. In recognition of our efforts to reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions in the region, SANDAG has honored RECON with a Diamond Award.
